What is a Google My Business listing?
Simply put - It helps people find you online.
By entering your business information, location, areas you cover and some other basic information, Google will display you as a result in their GMB rankings position which is typically just under Google Ads customers (paid search results) and above Organic results.
You can see an explanation of the different types of Google rankings in our video here.
Why is it good?
Well, rather than wait to be ranked organically, which can take a long time (depending on your location, competitors and what you do), you get to appear on the first page of Google within a matter of weeks - once your business has been verified by Google.
This is especially true if you get your customers to give you some reviews. As little as 3 reviews will make a big difference.
And it's FREE.
How do I do it?
Setting up a Google My Business listing and getting reviews is really easy:
1. The first thing you need to do is set up a Google Mail or Google Suite account.
If you have one you want to use that's great - Mettrr also provide G-Suite Hosted mailboxes, which link directly to your website domain. If you would like us to set one up for you, it's a small annual fee and we can get this done today. Just give us a call on the number below.
If you want to set up your own Gmail account, then please go back to the article called "Setting up a Google Suite or Google Mail account" and follow the instructions.
2. Now you have got your Google account, you need to start the Google My Business set up.
Google has created this handy guide that explains exactly what you need to do in a simple step by step guide, click here to see it.
Don't Forget: You can also send us a link to your GMB page and we will add it to your site - to increase your chances of ranking higher just a little more!
You will find instructions on how to do that here
